In my opinion, our society has remained similar to how things used to be around 20 years ago. There were different types of bigotry used back then than how it is now. In present time, there are more deaths we hear about that have to do with race. Even though we have an African American president, there are still plenty of racial issues that occur in our society today. 20 years ago, similar issues took place. In the 90's, more people had racist views because it was only 30 years after the Voting Rights Act and other laws that were put into action. I think these racist views need to go away and we need to start realizing that almost anyone can get the same type of jobs accomplished if they work their hardest and are willing to be committed to whatever it is that they are doing.
